In 2017, SAKS Of Love, was founded by Christina Leary, Executive Director, and her husband Lorenzo Leary, Operations Manager. The couple became concerned about senior citizens lacking support to provide their personal care and household needs. They started taking pounds to elderly in the community and visited with them. The more sacks that went out, it eventually opened the door to serve other families in other counties. Over the years, SAKS has has transformed into who we are today. We are neighbors joined together, to be a blessing to our community. SAKS Of Love, is a non-profit organization combined of community supporters in Angelina, Harris, Nacogdoches, San Augustine, Shelby, Smith, and Panola County. Our unified hearts and talents contribute encouragement and hope into our community.
We are not just another sack handed out! We are ”Sending A Kingdom Sacrifice Of Love“ and blessing our community in our own unique way.
We now have 2 locations! We will still operate out of SAKS Shack where we “Shed a lot of Love!” All requests for assistance should be submitted through an email or by the electronic form on our website. Please call us if you need assistance.
If you would like to make a donation, please schedule a time for delivery or pick-up. Deliveries to our families will be scheduled for the 20th-25th of every month.
There are no donations too big or too small to support our mission. We appreciate all of your donations of love. All donations are tax deductible. I hope that you can continue to be inspired to bless your communities with SAKS Of Love.
We bless according to the needs of the family. Although we cannot serve everyone, we are called to be a blessing to our community on a case by case basis. Qualifying for our services is to be a member of our community.
Income is a factor, but not a decision maker in this organization. As of now, we all qualify. The world is not as it was 3 years ago.
This program recognizes outstanding citizens for their volunteer work in the community by highlighting their accomplishments within the community, and through local schools within the counties that we serve. Being named Best Charitable Organization, doesn't make us proud it motivates us to stay prepared, to serve the next neighbor with gentleness, and goodness. Each child is given a $500 scholarship along with a plaque and banquet to be celebrated along with their families. Each Senior Citizen that is recognized, is blessed with a plaque, gift, and an invitation to the banquet as well.
This program is for families who cannot afford to purchase school uniforms, clothing, or shoes for their children. Clothing is also provided to families who have lost their homes due to house fires. Elderly can shop for clothing and shoes at our local pantry.
This program is a mobile/permanent pantry that provides food, household, and hygiene items to elderly citizens who cannot attend local food drops or have no transportation. Through the help of volunteers, we schedule deliveries to their homes and provide enough items for their homes to alleviate the financial pressures they may have. Our Pantry is located in Tenaha, Texas, and serves as a central location to provide essential needs for all less fortunate families within the area.
This program promotes mental health awareness within the community by hosting virtual learning classes and discussions. Classes are presented by professional volunteers and business owners within the community. Virtual reading nights are hosted by parents and their children.
Operation Heat is focused on elderly homes that have no source of heating, or alternate heating options in their homes. Our mission is to provide homes with heaters, and other alternatives to keep our elderly neighbors warm during the winter. Our goal is to provide at least 100 heaters to distributed throughout Angelina, Nacogdoches, Shelby, Panola, and Smith counties. We need your help to spread the word to the community.
This program provides Christmas gifts to senior citizens and children who may not be able to afford a meal or will not receive a gift during the holiday. We also assist families who cannot afford to bless their children with a gift for the season.
With gas prices fluctuating the cost of delivering to our neighbors is halting us from making deliveries as normal. With a gift of your choice sponsor our tank to help keep us visual in the communities we serve.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
